My 1,474-Megapixel Photo from President Obama's Inaugural Address

The response to my Gigapan of two million people at President Obama's inauguration has been incredible. Since I posted the photo on my blog, it has been viewed over 11 millions times in 210 countries. I was interviewed on CNN and it was mentioned on every news and tech website from the Huffington Post and Drudge Report to Engadget and Gizmodo, garnering a #1 ranking on Digg.com.

I made the image by shooting a series of 220 photos using the Gigapan Epic. When stitched together into one giant panorama, the resulting photo is 1,474 megapixels. For comparison, a normal point-and-shoot photo is about 10 megapixels.

The extreme resolution allows you to zoom in and pan around by double clicking or using the controls at top left. As you look around, you'll find all of the living U.S. Presidents, cellist Yo-Yo Ma taking a picture with his iPhone, and government snipers on faraway rooftops.

By popular demand, you can get prints of the photo in various sizes and configurations.

I'm a New York City-based photographer, multimedia, and video producer who mostly works with musicians and athletes. I try to make unique images using technology and by just seeing things a bit differently.

I'm available for freelance work and music tours. You can see my online portfolio and read my blog for more information.
