Neeta and Andrew

March 06, 2009 by David Bergman

Last weekend, I photographed Neeta Mirchandani and Andrew Renner’s wedding in Atlanta.

I met the couple for the first time on the night before the wedding, but I immediately felt like a close family friend. Neeta and Andrew are both warm, loving, fun people and it was a joy to be with them and their families on this special day.

The ceremony was rooted in Indian tradition, so the entire wedding party all wore customary Indian clothes. Neeta needed a bit of help from her mother when it was time to get into her sari.

(Nikon D3, 14-24 lens, ISO 1600, 1/160 sec, f/2.8. One SB-800 strobe off camera bounced off the ceiling and one SB-800 placed on the floor near the door behind the bride.)

At an Indian wedding, the groom is supposed to be treated like a god. Andy’s brothers didn’t think they were worthy of being in his presence.

I made a portrait of the couple near the hotel’s indoor pool.

(Nikon D3, 70-200 lens, ISO 800, 1/80 sec, f/4. Two SB-900 strobes into a Chimera softbox at camera left, a gold reflector at camera right, and one SB-800 with a blue gel skimmed off the surface of the pool.)

I’ll post more of the photos in the coming weeks as I edit them.

    David,
I am so honored to have had you shoot our day.. We are looking forward to the viewing the rest..
And if anyone is reading this and wondering if David would be a good photographer to shoot your wedding, I can only say that I still have guests telling me how impressed they are with our photographer..  He is friendly, classy, professional, great to have a drink with, and an amazing photographer as well..  So, take it from me, if you don’t hire him to shoot your wedding, you are messing up..  This is coming from a wedding photographer..
From everyone in our family and friends, thank you David.

    David,
I second what Andy said…you are truly an amazing photographer, and such a humble person.
I REALLY appreciated how you sat down to talk with Andy and I the day before the wedding to find out what was important to us. That made all the difference, and made it obvious that you sincerely care. With only the few pictures released thus far, our family and friends are blown away by your work. It was a privilege to have you shoot our wedding, and I am PROUD to tell everyone you were our photographer.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for capturing our day- you made us feel very special, and your pictures are those that I will cherish and reminisce on for years to come.
If you have the opportunity to have David Bergman take any pictures for you- HIRE HIM. I am the wife of a photographer myself, so I tend to be a little picky about my photographs- and I can tell you, David’s meticulous perspective in his photos is evident to EVERYONE.
DAVID BERGMAN is wonderful! His work speaks for itself.
